Oktobar 1864 is a jazz-rock band founded in Belgrade 1984. by guitarist Goran Tomanović. Goran recruited the first band members over the newspaper ads. The band had it's first big performance in 1985. when they played in "Taš" club in Belgrade, and that is when Tanja Jovićević, their singer, joined the group. The band released three albums: A self-titled album "Oktobar 1864" in 1987, "Igra Bojama" (roughly translated: Playing With Colors/Color Play) in 1988 and "Crni Ples" (The Black Dance) in 1990.
